Gifu Prefecture issued a "second wave of extraordinary events" declaration, Okinawa Prefecture raised the alert level from the existing level 2 to level 3, and issued an emergency declaration. Osaka asked downtown restaurants that provide alcohol to shorten business hours or close from August 6 to 20; Mitsubishi Prefecture issued a state of emergency, requiring county residents not to travel across regions from now on to August 16.
The novel coronavirus epidemic has dealt a huge blow to the Japanese economy. At present, the second outbreak of the epidemic has brought a new great test to the Japanese government and people.
